It has been our goal from the start to not just have food in hankr, but to have great food. The best food, even. And not "best" necessarily meaning the fanciest, or priciest, but best meaning the most delicious. The most deliciously seared sea bass, and the most satisfyingly greasy cheese curds. The yummiest brunches and the tastiest burgers. So, right, that was the goal, and as we add dozens of dishes by the week and sometimes seemingly by the day, it's fun to look up from all the work and see food like this showing up in hankr and acknowledging to ourselves that, well, we're well on our way to meeting our goal.
Tell me this doesn't look like it belongs in the "best food in Milwaukee" conversation:
And this? I'm voting "yes". It's almost too pretty to eat. (Almost.)
Oh, hey there fella. You may be new here, but you definitely belong here.
Then there's this little number, here to check into the presidential suite of pecan caramel rolls.
You want short ribs? We've got you covered (in a pan sauce you'll want to bottle and take home for later).
OK, just one more, because braised meat.
One of the most exciting things about seeing all this great food on hankr - besides the fact that you can, you know, SEE THE FOOD - is that this is just the beginning. We are talking to more chefs every day, and we are photographing and adding new "best" dishes every day. Don't see your favorite? Send us a note to tell us what we're missing, and better yet, tell your favorite restaurant to tell us what we're missing and we'll see what we can do about taking care of that omission, pronto.
