Milwaukee: Five quick-pick hankr dessert favorites

While breakfast is the most important meal of the day, we stop our day in the middle of it for a little thing called lunch, and dinner is eaten to celebrate a multitude of occasions, we can't minimize the importance of something that should be a complete meal in and of itself - Dessert.

Here at hankr, we take this portion of dining very seriously. So seriously, that to provide you with an accurate assessment of sweet treats, we take it upon ourselves to indulge so we can divulge our findings to our lovely hankr fam.

While this is a time consuming, daunting, and, one might even call it, burdensome, task, we accept that it's our job and commit to doing it to the best of our ability. Whether you're a chocoholic, craving fruity sweetness, or just plain nutty, we got something for you!

Casablanca may be a restaurant known for its Middle Eastern cuisine, but a sweet, chocolate-y, melty dessert is universal. This dessert is served with all-natural gelato to complement a smooth, rich fudge brownie with a delicate flaky crust, served warm with a "heart of melted caramel." Direct quote. How can we resist something with a heart of melted caramel? The answer is, we can't. And YOU shouldn't resist it either!

Churros are one of those foods that you forget about sometimes. When you have them again though, you remember that they are your favorite thing of all time and make a mental note to put them down as one of your "last meal" food choices. I mean, come on. Fried dough, covered in cinnamon sugar, and dipped in chocolate. And not just chocolate. Taqueria El Jefe also offers a choice of mango or berry dipping sauce to switch it up!

When you walk into Gouda's, you encounter a straightforward, Italian deli. They know what they're doing and they do it well. No flamboyant, overused adjectives to introduce their dishes. This is Tiramisu and it's dang good.

What did the banana do when he saw a monkey? .....The banana split!! Trust me, this was the best banana split joke I could find - I was disappointed in the internet too. If any of you have a better one, feel free to comment!

Regardless, what matters is Osgood's Banana Split. And there's no doubt that this is the best. Osgood's delicious vanilla custard topped with bananas, chocolate sauce, and peanuts makes all your tastebuds shout with joy and distracts you from all the bad banana split jokes.

We've all heard the warnings - "don't eat raw cookie dough!" Salmonella or something silly like that. Let's be honest, though. We've also all had those days where cookie dough is the only solution. It's been a hard day at work, it's raining, you can't eat the cookies for 20 minutes. You know, serious problems. Well, I have great news for you, friend. This isn't raw cookie dough. This is fried. St. Francis Brewery has nailed what will be a new dessert favorite by dusting their cookie bites with powdered sugar and chocolate and serving it àla mode!

Don't worry, there's more where these came from! This is just the tip of  the iceberg when it comes to Milwaukee dessert-ing. Not to be confused with "deserting". Lord knows no one is running away from these dishes! See what other dessert delicacies hankr restaurants are serving up on the hankr app or today!
